In the notice faxed to Mulayam Singh Yadav, the Sangharsh Samiti demanded not to hand over the project to any private party in larger public interest. It assured that the project would start generating power by October 2009 if it was allowed to be set up by the Utpadan Nigam.

In the joint notice, Samiti leaders Shailendra Dubey, AK Singh, Chandra Prakash Awasthi and others demanded the move to privatise the project be withdrawn immediately failing which, they warned, they would launch an agitation.

To begin with, the power employees said they would begin satyagraha all over the State on June 6 to attract Government attention to their demand. They warned of resorting to a prolonged battle if the privatisation process continued even thereafter.
