The local health authorities are planning to conduct more raids on the clinics run by unauthorised medical practitioners in Gangapaar area. The department has also received a complaint from National Human Rights Forum against the bare-footed doctors running clinics in Sahson.
The forum has complained to the CMO office that as many as four unauthorised practitioners are running clinics in Sahson. Two of these clinics are situated at Hanumanganj Road in Sahson and the other two in the Sahson market. The health department sources, however, claimed that these clinics were registered at the CMO office. "But we have to find out that whether the doctor who has registered the clinic on his name is actually running it or not. The complaint by the National Human Rights Forum indicates that these clinics were being run by some unauthorised practitioners. A series of raids will be soon launched in Gangapaar area to check these clinics," said a CMO office staff on condition of anonymity.
Meanwhile, the district health department has also raided a dental clinic in Rajapur following a complaint made by a senior lawyer. The lawyer had complained to the CMO office that while extracting a tooth the dentist fractured the jaw bone of his wife.
