ALLAHABAD UNIVESIRTY (AU) students, junior doctors, advocates and businessman staged a dharna against reservation at the district headquarters on Thursday.
AU student leader Deepak Shukla led the agitation.
Students demanded to stop reservation and warned HRD minister Arjun Singh for his anti-social policies.
Speaking on the occasion, student leader Deepak Shukla and Om Prakash Dwivedi warned HRD minister of dire consequences if he fails to change his attitude towards the general students. Student leaders expressed determination to oppose the Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav if he applies ESMA over the doctors protesting against reservation.
Advocate Ambrish Dubey said that the legal fraternity would support anti-reservation movement and provide assistance to the protesting students.
Allapur Vyapar Mandal leader Shiv Prakash Gupta also announced to support the anti-reservation movement. Dr Sunil Shukla announced to intensify the protest if government tries to stop them by applying ESMA.
Several student leaders, advocates and businessman participated in the dharna included Rochak Tiwari, Alok Dubey, Pradeep Narayan, Ashutosh Pandey, Dinesh Pandey and Vijay Mishra among others.
Meanwhile CMP Degree College students also staged dharna at the college under leadership of Ashutosh Pandey.

Student leader Dinesh Pandey decided to commit self-immolation if the government allows reservation. Those present on the occasion were Anurag Shukla, Preeti Tripathi, Vimlesh Pandey, Alok Pandey, Rohit Mishra and Anil Tiwari among others.
Meanwhile the pro-quota students along with government employees took out a procession and submitted a memorandum to the district magistrate on Thursday.
Procession was led by AU student leader Dr Nirbhay Singh Patel and several employees’ leaders. Procession started from High Court and culminated into a meeting at the DM’s office. Leaders also submitted a memorandum ADM (City) addressed to Prime Minister.
Addressing the students, Patel said the government should clear its view over reservation and implement reservation during this session. He also said that another demonstration would be held on June 2. Those present on the occasion were Ramakant, Gulab Singh, Zia Kaunain Rizvi, Lalaram Saroj, Ajit Bhaskar, Aditya Vikram, Rajesh Yadav and Jaisram Verma among others.

MEDICAL STUDENTS of the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS-BHU) organised a ‘maharally’ under the banner of Resident Doctors’ Association, here on Thursday. The maharally was part of the ongoing nationwide anti-reservation agitation. The procession was taken out from the BHU.

STRIKING MEDICOS at the GSVM Medical College have put down the appeal of their striking counterparts at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, of going on indefinite hunger strike.
The medicos here have decided to provide all medical services to poor patients and simultaneously remain firm on their stand.
