Amid chaos scores of police personnel picked up L Rajagopal from his hunger camp at Swaraj Maidan in Vijayawada and shifted him to the Government Hospital on the sixth day of his fast this morning.
On a complaint by former MLA A Jayaprakash on behalf of Rajagopal, the APSHRC chairperson B Subhashan Reddy directed the Principal Secretary (Home Department) to consider Rajagopal's plea to shift him to Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad in view of his deteriorating health.
The Commission also directed Vijayawada City Commissioner of Police and Superintendent of Government Hospital to allow Congress MP to consult his advocate and talk to his family members.
The officials were also told to permit Rajagopal to have a doctor of his choice to keep record of MP's health profile and prescriptions.
