According to a blog report posted on Boy Genius Report (BGR), Apple's latest iPhone 4 caught fire while being attached to a computer through the Apple USB cable. Quite dangerously, the phone’s user suffered minor burn injuries on hand.

The pictures on the blog show an iPhone 4 with burn marks and a burned and even melted USB cable.

The reporter, quoting AT&T sources, says that a customer had brought the phone to the store for repair, but the device was in the shape of beyond repair.

A local Apple store clarified that the cause behind fire was a defective USB port, report said. The edge of the device had got unmanageably hot.

AT&T reports, Apple told the store that it seems the fault is with defective USB port, and not due to any design flaw.

Following complaints, Apple recently admitted that iPhone 4 has been facing poor signal strength and poor reception problems.
