A Myanmarese national, allegedly involved in arms smuggling, was caught by Assam Rifles personnel from the border town of Moreh, official sources said today.

The sources said personnel of 31st Assam Rifles battalion yesterday nabbed Jawin (36), who allegedly smuggled arms from Myanmar and supplied these to an insurgent organisation in Moreh in Manipur’s Chandel district.

One 9mm pistol, two magazines and a mobile phone were recovered from Jawin, who was later handed over to police, they said.
