Arrest warrant against MP minister

A local Gwalior court on Thursday issued arrest warrant against Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottum Mishra for hiding facts and furnishing wrong information in the affidavit filed during the Assembly election in 2008.

A local Gwalior court on Thursday issued arrest warrant against Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottum Mishra for hiding facts and furnishing wrong information in the affidavit filed during the Assembly election in 2008.

The court directed the police to arrest Mishra and present him before the court by March 11. Mishra had contested and won election from Datia.

According to information Mishra in his affidavit had disclosed that he does own any four-wheeler.

Thereafter during election campaign a vehicle bearing the registration no HR 37/ B 1282 in Mishra's name was apprehended by the police for alleged wrongful distribution of election material.

On a complaint filed by Congress leader Ashok Dangi the Jigna police station of Datia district had confiscated the vehicle being used without valid permission on November 26, 2008.

However Mishra approached the court later for release of vehicle in December 2008 claiming ownership of the confiscated vehicle. The court released the vehicle on a personal security of Rs 3 lakh, said sources.

The court found Mishra guilty of furnishing wrong information after recording the statement of returning officer and SDM (Datia) Shivram Patna and PS incharge Jigna police station Narendra Verma and conduction of trial.

The court directed to arrest Mishra and present before CJM court in Datia till March 11.
