Indian, half-German, lover of Elizabeth Hurley, flew to Milan to meet his estranged wife Valentina Pedroni, to plead with her for a quick divorce. It is said that he had a frank exchange of views during which both accepted that their marriage was over. But Pedroni made it clear that she intends to fight any move for a divorce through the Italian legal system, which is notoriously slow and difficult.
Under the Italian law, a couple must be separated for three years before divorce proceedings can begin. Through friends Pedroni has gone on to suggest that Liz betrayed their friendship. It would not be easy for Liz to marry Arun, Pedroni is alleged to have said. But, Arun's and Liz's friends deny that Liz and Pedroni knew each other before Liz came to know Arun.
Whatever it be, the Mail reporter who seemingly stalked him in Milan said that at his wife's place Nayar, 37, looked tense as he and his wife took their dogs for a walk. A friend of Pedroni said: "They spent two or three hours together. The atmosphere was distinctly frosty.
"They talked over everything that has happened but, as far as, Valentina is concerned, it is over and she just wants to get on with her life now. The subject of divorce was broached but she will not make it easy for Liz Hurley.
"She (Valentina) and Arun parted amicably and kissed each other on the cheek when he left. They remain friends despite everything."

{{/usCountry}}But strangely, despite a picture being taken of them coming out with the dog, that has been published as well, Pedroni denied that a meeting had taken place. Hurley's spokesman also declined to say whether she had known about Arun's visit to Milan in advance.
How will the failure of Arun's mission to persuade Pedroni to give him divorce affect his relations with Liz has now become a matter of interest to the London cocktail circuit.
