BJP will play the role of a constructive opposition in the newly-elected Arunachal Pradesh assembly, party's state unit said on Friday.

The party secured three seats in the elections.
Senior party leader L K Advani and party president Rajnath Singh telephoned the state unit and congraulated it, party state unit general secretary and spokesman Tai Tagak said in Itanagar.

"The party fought the election inspite of the problems following defections of all its nine MLAs and former Lok Sabha member Kiren Rijiju, to Congress," he said.
