As darkness descends over the DMK, CBI’s bathed in new light

With reference to the news report Kanimozhi behind bars (May 21), the arrest of the Rajya Sabha MP is another shock for the DMK after its disastrous showing in the assembly election in Tamil Nadu. The Central Bureau of Investigation should be grateful the Supreme Court for directly monitoring the probe. In fact, the politician’s arrest has helped the
investigating agency salvage its
image somewhat.

People like former telecom minister A Raja, former Commonwealth Games chief Suresh Kalmadi and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi must be punished severely for what they have done. The crores they have siphoned off could have been used for educating our children, building public health facilities and improving our infrastructure.

In a league of its own
As the Indian Premier League-4 reaches its final rounds, there is one question that is yet to be answered: are the IPL teams nurturing local talents or are they more keen to sign foreign players? The governing body of the Indian T20 league should stick with the four foreign players’ format so that our youngsters get a chance to exhibit their cricketing skills.

{{/usCountry}}A very flexible sovereignty
This is with reference to the report China asks US to respect Pak’s sovereignty (May 20). Pakistan can hardly call itself a sovereign State, having bartered away its territory to China, allowed unfettered access to the Americans and being helpless in the face of the Taliban’s activities.
