Mehbooba stalls HouseThe budget session of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly began on a stormy note on Monday. Members of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had to be removed physically from the House after they shouted slogans against the government over the Shopian rape and murder case. "Produce the culprits of Shopian," the PDP members shouted.

At one point PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti rushed to the Speaker’s table and wrenched one of the microphones and threw it away. She and her party colleagues were then marshaled out of the House on the orders of Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone.
Earlier, PDP members, led by leader Mehbooba Mufti, walked to the well of the House, stalling the proceedings amid slogan-shouting.

YSR-Naidu slugfest in Andhra
Uproarious scenes were witnessed in the Andhra Pradesh assembly on Monday as the Congress and Telugu Desam Party members took on each other over the mass appeal of their leaders.
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy challenged Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu to a “referendum” to decide who among them enjoyed more credibility.
Naidu agreed, but wanted governance, corruption and “political murders” included in the referendum.
Reddy accepted but with a rider — the loser would quit politics. “I will fix the dates for the referendum at the earliest,” the CM. Other parties, however, asked the two to focus on people’s issues and problems.
