"We are sure of forming the next government with the help of non-Congress and non-BJP forces," AUDF president Badruddin Azmal told reporters in Guwahati.

The AUDF chief claimed that his party alone would win at least 35 seats and would be able to form the government with support from non-Congress and non-BJP parties.

Azmal claimed that the minority community had reposed total faith in the party and in the event of government formation all care would be taken to ensure that their rights are preserved.

When asked whether he would join the government as Deputy Chief Minister, Azmal said there was every chance he would be the Chief Minister.

The AUDF leader said the people of Assam would vote out the Congress as the government had done nothing for the welfare of the minority community.

"This will be reflected in the result with the people deciding not to vote for the Congress," he said.
