According to police sources, the Mumbai ATS team on their own carried out Saturday's action and arrested Sayyed Akif Sayyed Jafroddin (22) from his residence at Ganesh Colony locality here, on Saturday.

The suspect was later taken to Mumbai by the ATS for further interrogations, the sources said.

The Mumbai ATS has so far arrested 11 persons in the ongoing case, in connection with the busting of the terrorist module at Verul village in Aurangabad followed by seizure of arms and RDX from Ankai Fort near Manmad and Malegaon in neighbouring Nashik district on May 12 and 13.

The ATS, in their joint operation with the local police of Aurangabad on May 9, had arrested three terrorists including an activist of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and seized eleven AK-47 rifles, 30 kg of deadly RDX and 800 bullets from a vehicle parked in front of the Ghrushneshwar Temple at Verul village.

In their third operation in Malegaon, the ATS had seized 13 kgs of RDX, five AK-47 rifles, and 1000 rounds of ammunition on the night of May 14.
