SRI AUROBINDO Medical College and Hospital launched Sri Aurobindo Health Card for poor persons in a function on Friday to enable them to avail of the best medical facilities at subsidised cost.

Sanver Janpad president Vishnu Prasad Shukla was chief guest at the inaugural ceremony held at Sri Aurobindo Medical College. Speaking on the occasion, Shukla praised the pioneering efforts of Dr Vinod Bhandari for initiating an independent survey to identify the weaker sections and extending medical facilities for them. Around 2,000 rural families would be provided this card in the first stage of this scheme.

Bhourasala Village Sarpanch Ramratan Chouhan and Hospital Superintendent Dr P K Bajaj were present at the function.
The card will help Below Poverty Line persons avail of free OPD check-up, free stay in general ward, food for patient and 50 per cent discount on operations for the cardholder.

Dr Bhandari said that these benefits were apart from the privileges given to weaker sections under Deen Dayal Antyodaya Scheme launched by the Centre. Chitra Khidwarkar conducted the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
