Aussie ace Schubert ruled out of hockey World Cup

The Australian World Cup campaign was hit hard after ace striker Grant Schubert was ruled out of the tournament with a knee injury.

The Australian World Cup campaign was hit hard after ace striker Grant Schubert was ruled out of the tournament with a knee injury.

Schubert will be out of action for six to eight weeks, a Hockey Australia press release said.

Russell Ford will substitute Schubert in the squad.

Australia, the Olympic gold medallists, are slated to take on Spain in their opening match of the World Cup on September 7 in Monchengladbach, Germany.
