Three Austrian children who sent an e-mail to Austrian embassy alleging that they were not being properly looked after and were being starved by their mother, were rescued and produced before a court in Kerala.
The children -- Jasmine (10), Sultan (13) and David (15) were found by Social Welfare Department officials in a rented house with two dogs at Ettumanoor in Kottayam district. They had not been fed and the place was stinking, police said.
Their plight came to light after David sent an e-mail to Austrian embassy in New Delhi, who took it up with the Centre.
Following this, Kottayam District Collector and Social welfare department conducted an inquiry on the plight of the children.
The children were produced before Kottayam Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court on April 3. While two boys have been sent to rescue home, the girl was sent to the children home after they refused to be with mother, Judith (44), an Austrian citizen, Ettumanoor Sub Inspector, M K Manoj told PTI.
However, the woman has denied ill-treating her children, police said. Father of the children, Nazeeb, hailed from Kozhikode in Kerala and works as a male nurse in Austria. He has taken Austrian citizenship and lives with his eldest son there.

{{/usCountry}}Their's was a love marriage which turned sour and separated after they had 4 children. Judith came to Kerala in August last year with three children and started taking German classes in a public school.
Later she married a man from Tamil Nadu, police said. The children told the CJM that they were left to fend for themselves by their mother who used to starve them for days and did not look after them and wanted to return to Austria as soon as possible and do not want to be with their mother.
