"The BDR has demolished two camps in Chittagong Hills Tracts that belonged to Indian militants groups prior to the DG level conference between the frontier guards of the two countries," IG BSF (Assam-Meghalaya frontier) PK Mishra told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

The operation was carried out sometime in September. Our representatives have visited the demolished camps, and we have confirmed the BDR operation, he said.

Asked about the militant group to which the camps belonged, he said "we are yet to confirm the militant group". Mishra said BDR has assured BSF of looking into the list of Indian rebel camps in Bangladesh handed over to them.

During the four-day conference between the BSF and BDR in October last, the BSF DG handed over a list of 172 rebel camps of different Indian militant groups operating in Bangladesh.

Claiming that infiltration and exfiltration in the Assam-Meghalaya frontier has come down rapidly, specially after the fencing of the majority of tracts, Mishra said the BDR has also assured to cooperate in the fencing works.
