THE VISIT of Bachchan family and Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai to the temple town put the entire government machinery on its toes. From the district magistrate, district police chief to the entire middle and lower rung administrative officials were all busy ensuring that the high profile visit went off smoothly. Police officials from almost all the police stations in the city were monitoring security arrangements in Gyanvapi and Sankat Mochan temple area.

From the district magistrate, district police chief to the entire middle and lower rung administrative officials were all busy ensuring that the high profile visit went off smoothly.

Police officials from almost all the police stations in the city were monitoring security arrangements in Gyanvapi and Sankat Mochan temple area.

The heavy posse of police personnel were deployed in the wee hours of Monday morning in both these areas, where the family visited.

Meanwhile, district magistrate Rajiv Agarwal and SSP Ashutosh Pandey accompanied the dignitaries wherever they went during their stay here on Sunday and Monday.

However this heavy security came with its share of personal attention and a bevy of photographs taken with the bollywood stars. And no, it wasn’t the ‘junta’ but the officials themselves many of whom came with their families and had photographs clicked with the obliging stars.

“It was sheer luck that no untoward incident occurred in any part of the town during this high profile visit. It would have been a disaster as the police officers were all busy entertaining the dignitaries,” quipped an onlooker at Gyanvapi area.
