According to a report in the Gulf Daily News, the 30 workers, all employees of the company in Zinj, a suburb of Bahrain's capital Manama, agreed to resume duties after the company management signed a guarantee that all salaries would be paid in time.

The 30 workers, including some members of the administrative staff, had also lodged a complaint with the Indian embassy in Bahrain over this.

Earlier this week, the workers had staged a two-day strike in protest against the late payment of their April salaries.

Last month too, they had staged a weeklong strike following which their employer agreed to release salaries - ranging from Bahraini dinars (BD) 50 to 75 - for three months, four months after the first payment was due.

There are over 130,000 Indians in Bahrain, a large number of whom work as contract labourers.
