The directive of the district collector came at a meeting of the managing committee of the District Urban Development Authority (DUDA) held on Monday.

Expressing displeasure at the delay in implementation of the order regarding nutritious food, the Collector said action would be initiated against those supervisors of the Women and Child Development Department not taking interest in the work and against those not providing nutritious food to eligible children.

The project officer B B Tiwari presented physical and financial targets regarding the Swarna Jayanti Urban Employment scheme, Urban Labour Scheme, urban self-employment scheme, women and child development programme, saving and thrift groups, information, education and communication, Janashri Insurance scheme and others.

He said Rs 1.73 crore has been approved for construction of 1,214 residential houses under the Valmiki Ambedkar Housing Scheme and Rs 23.15 lakhs for the external electrification works at the Damakheda and Tarun Bhaduri Nagar. The development work would be undertaken by BMC.
