Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, he pointed out that the Andhra Pradesh High Court had directed the state Government to submit a report on the sale of soft drinks and the companies activities in the state. The Government should submit an integrated report to the court and stop the sale of soft drinks at educational institutions as implemented in Maharashtra.

Observing that the Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss was also campaigning against the consumption of soft drinks, as it was not good for health, he said film stars and sports persons should stop promoting soft drinks and instead create awareness among the people about health problems.
