Bangladesh Finance Minister Saifur Rahman may be on his way out due to internal squabbles in the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), media reports said.
"I will make my position clear after three days," the minister was quoted as saying by the Bangladesh Observer newspaper.
Rahman, a prominent face of the Khaleda Zia government, was talking to journalists after a meeting with World Bank Country Representative in Bangladesh Christine Wallich.
Rahman has been having problems with fellow lawmaker Ilyas Ali. Reports said his resignation move is an attempt to put pressure on the prime minister to sack Ali.
He is adamant on resigning from the cabinet in the wake of the volatile situation in the BNP unit at his home base Sylhet, the newspaper said.
Finance and planning minister since 2001, Rahman has been an articulate spokesperson of his government, speaking on a wide variety of issues at home and in international forums.
He spoke on Prime Minister Zia's behalf during his visit to India in March when he met captains of trade and industry.

Farruk met Rahman at the latter's residence Wednesday night and clarified his position.
