The UP King George’s University of Dental Sciences has already decided to take thumb impression of aspirants to cross check against any doubt, later on.

Discussions on security measure were also held in the emergency Executive Council meeting of the varsity called today.

A nationalised bank has already been assigned to distribute entrance examination forms while it is being decided where should the question papers be kept till the exam date.

Bank lockers are being considered the safest place for keeping the question papers and this option may be considered once the Department of Medical Education gives a go-ahead.

“We have incorporated the thumb impression method for the first time in CPMT exams and further discussions on safety measures are on,” said Prof CP Govila, vice-chancellor of the dental university that is conducting the CPMT exam this year.

Meanwhile, in the emergency Executive Council meeting of the dental university the members were briefed on the prestigious assignment and the steps taken till now.

“The EC members have endorsed the decisions taken by the varsity to include thumb impression with signature of candidate on answer sheets and a superior photo quality. They have demanded that they should be updated on the proceedings in future,” Prof Govila said.

A meeting of the varsity authorities with the medical education department is proposed where decision on further measures will be taken. Also, help from the forensic department will be discussed with experts.

Meanwhile, the blueprint for entrance examination forms has been prepared and a go-ahead is awaited from the medical education department. The forms will be available for sale from February 10 onwards.
