BCCI income has doubled: Shah

The board secretary said the revenue came from media rights to the tune of Rs 341 crore.

BCCI's income has more than doubled to Rs 430 crore from Rs 210 crore, Board Secretary Niranjan Shah and Treasurer N Srinivasan revealed on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference after conclusion of the two-day special general body meeting here, the BCCI functionaries said this came to light after the board approved the accounts for 2005-06.

They said most of the revenue came from media rights to the tune of Rs 341 crore.

The board derived most of its income for 2005-06 from the England tour. Mr Shah and Mr Srinivasan said the surplus from tours earning had gone up from Rs 40 crore to Rs 60 crore.
