The BSF jawans on patrolling duty challenged the intruder on Friday, but when he still tried to cross over he was shot down, BSF sources said on Saturday.

Following this, the second battalion of BDR opened fire and the 37 battalion of BSF retaliated.

The exchange, however, stopped after five minutes and the BSF is arranging to hand over the body to BDR after completion of necessary formalities, sources said.
