Ben Kingsley is in Goa to participate in IFFI

Sir Ben Kingsley has arrived in Goa to participate in the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2009. Kingsley, who was received at the state airport, said that he is looking for finances for his next movie Taj.

Sir Ben Kingsley has arrived in Goa to participate in the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2009.

Kingsley, who was received at the state airport, said that he is looking for finances for his next movie on Taj Mahal, the grandeur monument by Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaj.

The Hollywood actor, who is a household name after playing Mahatma Gandhi in the film Gandhi, said that his next venture in India (Taj) is not fully financed. “I am looking out for finance for this film,” he said talking to reporters at the airport.

Kingsley said that he is very serious about this film. The actor himself is playing Shah Jahan in the film, which will Aishwarya Rai cast opposite him as Mumtaz Mahal in the biopic.

The Hollywood star, who traces his roots to India, said that the film will be in English but would be dubbed in various languages as it is scheduled to be released worldwide.

The festival, which was kicked off on November 23, is showcasing 300 films from 50 countries.
