Best house award goes to Peace House

PEACE HOUSE won the best house award in the annual sports meet of Billabong High International School, organised at the school’s playground on Sunday.

School has four houses with names Peace, Equality, Freedom and Unity. Peace House was adjudged best and Equality stood second in the meet.

The annual sports meet marked with fun and excitement. The day began with the traditional torchbearers run by tiny tots of primary and pre primary.

This was followed by the participant’s oath ceremony. In his address, IG Bhopal Sanjeev Kumar Singh, the chief guest applauded the school’s management for providing best of the quality education to the students. “I am impressed by the education being provided to the students,” said Singh. He released the school flag.

Addressing the gathering guest of honour former coordinator of the school Purabi Guha encouraged the students to put their best while participating in the events. Various events, including 100m, 200m, 400m, bingo race, chicken race, ek billi hamari, peanut butter, sandwich race and others were organised. The unique feature of the meet was the special races for parents including back-to-back race. Even parents participated in them with great fervour.

The day ended with a show of solidarity displayed by the teaching faculty. Centre director Samina Jamal, chairman Najam Jamal, Usha Nath and other dignitaries were present. Archana Zulfiqar proposed the vote of thanks.
