'Jungle jungle baat chali hai...'. We still sway to the tunes of the most famous animation series 'Jungle Book' and surely cannot forget lanky, long-haired Mowgli in a hurry. Today we are enjoying the pranks of 'Hanuman' which surprisingly drew tremendous crowd to the theatres.
Driven by the promise of enormous scope which the animation industry is offering at present, the young creative minds of the city are all set to shape a career in animation. If yesteryears witnessed crowd in traditional jobs and careers, this year the trend is changing and the trendsetters are BFA grads from Allahabad University. Unfortunately, they have no facility in the city where they could persue the career in this field. However, metro and few big cities are still open for them as an option to learn this art.
Pawan Kumar, a student of BFA IIIrd year in Allahabad University is driven by sheer interest. "I am quite interested in drawing cartoon characters and since animation industry is thriving with the new job offers, I am all set to carve a career there," said Pawan who is planning to take admission in an institute in Delhi which offers specialisation in the course.
Another youth Ashutosh, who is also the student in BFA IIIrd year in Allahabad University, is planning to shape a career in animation. "I will also learn special effects which is quite popular nowadays. Fortunately the animation industry is in need of hands and the starters manage to earn as much as Rs 8000 to 10,000 per month," he said. Ashutosh has already participated in several solo and group exhibitions in painting. "Those who are hard working and know how to run their imaginations wild need not worry about their monthly income. Their scope is unlimited," he added. Like him, several others are also in the queue to join the same bandwagon.

{{/usCountry}}Ashutosh Gupta, a teacher who specialises in animation said that there was vast scope for a full-fledged career in this field. "Animation films, advertisements, illustrations, comic books, etc are the fields where animation experts are required. Even after the advent of multiple techniques which require less labour, the animation industry searches for those who could do the job manually as it is still considered better. America and other advanced countries are now giving the jobs on contract basis to Indian artists as it is cheaper for them. A new job opportunity has emerged for those planning to choose animation," said Gupta.
