ENDOWED WITH several natural spots like lakes and mountains, Bhopal has tremendous potential of becoming an international tourist destination.
Internationally enowned tourism expert Nicolo De Sen Germano said this during his meeting with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today.
Germano who is from Switzerland urged the Chief Minister to make fullest and most effective use of the immense possibilities present in the State Capital to make a mark in the international tourism sector.
He held discussions with Chouhan and Tourism Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia about increasing water sports activities and popularising tourism in Bhopal.
The Chief Minister assured Germano of taking all possible steps for the implementation of his suggestions and advice to harness the City’s tourism potential. Bhopal Collector Sanjay Shukla and other officials were also present during the meeting.
Later, Germano visited the Boat Club on the Upper Lake and took a look at the water sports activities centre of the Sports Authority of India (SAI).
He also met Bhopal Mayor Sunil Sood and other officials and discussed various tourism related aspects with them besides providing suggestions on ways to increase tourism activities here.
