BHOPAL AND Jabalpur dominated the proceedings in hockey during the rural sports meet at Mayur Hostel playgrounds here on Friday.
Bhopal thrashed Ujjain by a margin of 8-1 in the boys’ segment. Manish scored three goals for the winning team. In another fixture, Jabalpur routed Indore by 5-0. Rinku Yadav scored two goals. Meanwhile, Bhopal defeated Sagar by a margin of 1-0. Manish Malviya scored the only goal of the match.
In girls’ section, Jabalpur beat Bhopal (1-0). The solitary goal came off the stick of Goli Yadav. In wrestling, Ajay Vir stood first in the 38-kg segment. Ansar Khan was second in the same category.
Indore district enter semis
INDORE DISTRICT, Jabalpur Corporation and Sagar district on Friday entered the semifinals of the state-level kabaddi championship being organised at BHEL Sports Club here.
In the first quarterfinal of the girls’ section, hosts Bhopal suffered a setback when the team lost to Indore district 36-08. In the other matches of the same category, Jabalpur Corporation defeated Jabalpur district 51-18 and Sagar district defeated Jabalpur Jab 20-18.
