VIKRANT SINGH and Shivam Chaube of Bhopal on Tuesday smashed centuries as Bhopal scored 347 in the A W Kanmadikar inter-division under-15 cricket tournament being played at the Old Campion grounds. On Monday, Bhopal had bundled out Jabalpur Division for 136.
Resuming from Tuesday’s 60 without loss, openers Vikrant Singh and Shivam Chaube continued to torment Jabalpur bowlers. Maintaining Monday’s rhythm, both openers scored runs comfortably.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Vikrant Singh completed his century off 202 deliveries, 18 of which he sent to the ropes. At lunch Bhopal had scored 200 runs without losing any wicket.
Vikrant lost concentration after lunch while facing a delivery of Sawan Dubey. Jabalpur skipper Javed caught him at his individual sore of 104. Shivam Chaube, however, soon scored the second century for Bhopal team. In his 100 runs innings, Shivam scored 14 boundaries. His excellent innings ended in a similar manner. Sawan claimed his wicket also.
After the departure of the centurions, Aditya Shrivastava played well but failed score the half-century. He was run out for 41. However, skipper Shreyas Singh played superbly. At the stumps he was 74 not out. On the other end Akash Gupta was giving him company at 12 not out.

These players demonstrated excellent cricket temperament”, said Tyagi. It was a happy moment for the Bhopal Division Cricket Association (BDCA) as the team performed exceptionally well in their first inter-division match. In an informal talk with the journalists, BDCA secretary Dr Shafquat Mohammad Khan praised Bhopal team’s batting.

{{/usCountry}}About organising more inter-division matches in Bhopal, he said that the City still required better infrastructure. “In Indore, school and colleges have their own sports infrastructure which is not the case in Bhopal. Educational institutions should think seriously over this issue”, said Khan.
He disclosed that Bhopal will host three important matches of under-17 categories to be played in December. The first match will be between Maharashtra and Sikkim from December 15 to 17, second match between Saurashtra and J&K from December 20 to 22 and third match between Maharashtra and J&K from December 25 to 27.
