BANARAS HINDU University (BHU) administration continues to draw attention of Central Information Commission (CIC) over the controversial death of a student Yogesh Rai, at Sir Sunderlal Hospital on January 11, 2005.

Peeved over the alleged reluctant attitude of BHU administration in handing over the inquiry report of Harikesh Singh Committee in connection with the controversial death of Yogesh Rai, Dhananjay Tripathi who raked up the issue forwarded a request letter to CIC to get the said inquiry report on Wednesday.
“Despite repeated directives of the CIC, the authorities of BHU have yet not handed over the Harikesh Singh Committee report to me and that is why I have forwarded a letter, requesting CIC to issue a time-bound directive to BHU administration to hand-over the said document to me,” said Dhananjay Tripathi.
“BHU administration is reluctant in giving the document even though the CIC directed them to hand over the said document to me on June 30 and July 31 this year,” said Dhananjay Tripathi, who faxed the request letter to CIC on Wednesday.
“Instead of giving the document to me, the BHU administration declared the Harikesh Singh Committee’s report as dead document,” he said asking, “If the BHU authorities suppose the committee’s report as dead document, then why Harikesh Singh Committee was constituted to probe the incident.”
“As per the Harikesh Singh Committee report, Yogesh Rai could not survive due to medical negligence and that was why the authorities of BHU were reluctant to hand over the document to me,” he claimed. “Since I raked up the issue, the authorities denied to admit me in Master of Physical Education course this year.”
Dhananjay Tripathi has also requested the CIC to initiate appropriate action in this connection.
“It is requested to initiate appropriate action in this connection and if the case of appellant is found genuine, then you are also requested to give a time-bound directive to BHU for my admission,” the request letter demanded. CIC secretary Pankaj Shreyansker recently visited BHU to investigate the charges of Dhananjay Tripathi over BHU administration for allegedly denying him admission as he raked up the issue of his death. Despite repeated attempts the concerned authorities were not available for their comments.
