INSTITUTE OF Technology at Banaras Hindu University, in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) of India (Ahmedabad), will introduce a one-year post-graduate distance learning diploma course in entrepreneurship from this academic session.
According to information, the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India has made the Industry Institute Partnership Cell of IT-BHU its nodal centre to run the Open Learning Programme in Entrepreneurship, a one-year distance learning course, supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
IIP Cell chief coordinator Dr PK Mishra and co-coordinator Dr Pradeep Srivastava said they had received a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) from EDI to run the said course from the forthcoming academic session in BHU.
Dr Mishra said there would be 40 seats for this course, adding that students with a graduation degree in science or technology or those holding a diploma certificate in engineering were eligible for this course.
Students in their final year of graduation in science or technology could also apply for the course. He said students would be imparted training right from writing the project proposal to setting up the enterprise.
Dr Mishra further said students would also be told about the various government schemes meant for promoting entrepreneurship during the course. “The IIP Cell of IT-BHU will conduct the entire course examination while the EDI will give the course material for the course,” he added.
