Big B washes his hands off Barabanki land

Fed up with the ongoing controversy Amitabh Bachchan has decided to wash his hands off the piece of land that he owns in Daulatpur Village of Barabanki, near Lucknow. Rajesh Singh reports.

Fed up with the ongoing controversy Amitabh Bachchan has decided to wash his hands off the piece of land he owns in Daulatpur Village of Barabanki, 30 kilometre east of Lucknow. He has given the land donated by him to Nishta Foundation of Jaya Prada back to the Daulatpur Gram Sabha.

It is the same village, where Big B had decided to set up a girls high school in the name of her 'bahu' Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

"We have returned the two pieces of plots (khasra no. 711 and 793) that Amitabh had gifted to Nishta Foundation," Devendra Kumar representative of Nishta Foundation run by MP and bollywood actress Jaya Prada.

He said that a document to this effect was handed over to a custodian appointed by Big B and the Fatehpur tehsil officials in district Barabanki on Friday morning.

When contacted Rajesh Raj Rishi Yadav, the custodian appointed by Big B said, "We have in a letter to the DM Barabanki given our consent for donating the two pieces of plots back to Daulatpur Gram Sabha."

Singh had a lodged a complaint with the police accusing Big- B of fraud and going back on his pledge. "Amitabh Bachchan had promised to donate the land to gram sabha and he should fulfill his promise", he said.
