Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi has said that the Bihar government will appoint one lakh people in the next financial year.

Modi said that the government would appoint constables, block development officers, sub-inspectors of police, circle officer engineers, teachers and fill other vacant posts in the next fiscal.
Thrashing claims that the UPA at the Centre had enhanced the plan size of Bihar, Modi said that it was not because of the Centre but due to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the initiatives taken by the NDA government that the planning commission had fixed the annual plan outlay for 2006-2007 at Rs 8250 crore, an increase of nearly 33 per cent over last year.
He also thanked President APJ Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for their concern for the development of Bihar.
He hoped that the Prime Minister would make a separate announcement for Bihar under Rashtriya Sam Vikas Yojna (RSVY), which got no mention in Finance Minister P Chidambaram's speech.
