Last week, the police arrested him and recovered gold chains he had stolen all over Ambernath, Badlapur and Ulhasnagar.

Booked for nine cases of chain snatching, Rupesh Balaram Patil from Antarli village, Kalyan, told the police that Bhopi was also involved in the crimes.

Bhopi was known in the region for his bike stunts in small villages in the area during festival seasons.

The police, already on the lookout for Bhopi, received a tip-off that he was planning to go to Kushivli to commit a similar crime. Aware of his bike number and the make of the bike, the police then laid a dragnet, identified and arrested him.
