Bills for non-supply of power waived

IN A significant step, the Madhya Pradesh Government has directed the State Electricity Board (MPSEB) to waive the bills of those farmers who were served bills despite not being supplied any power for a long period due to ‘technical’ problems.

According to official sources, over the recent past, the peasants were constantly demanding the waiver. There have been complaints from several places in rural areas of transformers burn-out, lines malfunctioning or wires stolen. Taking serious note of the matter,
