According to official sources, over the recent past, the peasants were constantly demanding the waiver. There have been complaints from several places in rural areas of transformers burn-out, lines malfunctioning or wires stolen.
Taking serious note of the matter, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has instructed senior MPSEB officials to initiate measures for redressing cultivators’ grievances forthwith. Chouhan said that an initiative must be immediately launched for laying power lines in rural areas and getting rid of technical lacunae.
