India's Binani Industries has raised zinc ingot prices by 6.5 per cent in the domestic market following a surge in the global price of the metal to record highs, a senior company official said on Thursday.

The price for high-grade zinc ingots was raised by Rs 9,000 a tonne to Rs 147,000 from February 1, said Sushil Bhatter, chief executive officer of Binani Industries, which owns Binani Zinc, India's second-largest producer of the metal.
