Odisha chief minister and Biju Janta Dal boss Naveen Patnaik has ruled out any tie up with the Narendra Modi-led BJP after the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Speaking to HT exclusively at the sidelines of his public meeting in Purushottampur on Thursday morning, Patnaik said, "totally" when asked if he is ruling out any possibility of joining hands with the BJP later to form the government at the centre.

"There is no chance of any post-poll alliance with the BJP," he added.

BJD earlier had an alliance with the BJP both at the centre as well as the state but Patnaik snapped ties with the saffron party before the 2009 Lok Sabha and Odisha assembly polls. Odisha has 21 Lok Sabha and the BJD is the dominant political force.

Patnaik's remarks perhaps end the speculations after he refused to line up in the 'Third' Front of non-BJP and non-Congress parties. BJD had skipped the first meeting of the Third Front in New Delhi and has refused to share seats with the Left parties.
