During a meeting convened today to chalk out a strategy for the BMC council meeting, the BJP corporators used the opportunity to openly express their resentment against the party leaders by opposing certain issues on the agenda. Corporator Pushpendra Jain even threatened to stage a dharna during the meeting.

A BMC official had filed the FIR against Jain about a month ago after a brawl at Shivaji Nagar office. The miffed Jain has been demanding the transfer of officer from the BMC. He is learnt to have said that the leaders were doing nothing in this regard.

There was also a verbal duel between Anil Agrawal, the corporator from ward 29 and BMC chairman Ramdayal Prajapati over the issue of realisation of licence fee and newly-imposed tax on glow signboards through the private contractors.

The issue of proposed inclusion of private educational institutions in the property tax net triggered a wordy duel between the corporator, Malti Rai, and the leader of BJP corporators, Ashok Pandey.

Rai, who runs a private school, urged to oppose the proposal during the council meeting. Rai also said that she would stage a dharna in case the proposal is approved.

When Pandey supported the proposal, it triggered the verbal duel. Prajapati supported Rai and said that if approved, the property tax would also be imposed on the RSS-run Saraswati Shishu Mandir. No final decision could be taken on these issues.

It was decided that the proposal related to Kolar-II would be opposed. The BMC administration has proposed to stop further loan for Kolar-II.

It was decided that the BJP corporators would propose the speedy implementation of the scheme.
