BJP hints at an alliance with AIADMK in TN polls

Describing political developments in TN as "interesting", Naidu predicted realignment of political forces at Centre after assembly elections in 5 states.

After MDMK's cross over to AIADMK, BJP also hinted at an alliance with the party, when its senior leader Venkaiah Naidu said the party has taken note that "AIADMK's doors were open".

"BJP, which had so far on principle decided to go it alone in Tamil Nadu could reconsider its strategy depending on the developing situation," Naidu told reporters in Madurai on Saturday.

The party has noted down that the AIADMK's doors are open, Naidu said without elaborating.

However, when asked if the party had received any feelers from the AIADMK, he said "No feelers".

Describing the political developments in Tamil Nadu as "interesting", the BJP leader predicted realignment of political forces at the Centre after the assembly elections in five states.

"After the assembly elections there would definitely be a realignment of political forces at the Centre. But I cannot say what shape will it take. It is too early. The stability of the Central government also will be a question mark," he said.

There were vast differences among the UPA partners on the "main issues whether it was Iran, nuclear issue or visit of the US President."

The supporters of a ruling party had never come to the streets and held such "low level demonstrations", as the Prime Minister gave a red-carpet welcome to US President George W Bush.
