Under the new programme, party's Mahila Morcha members will be given the responsibility to organise small meetings with women in their respective localities and pray for Prime Minster AB Vajpayee’s long life.

In the new scheme, every BJP woman worker will gather a group of women in their respective colonies and pray for Vajpayee’s long life.

“This is a unique programme the party is launching in Indore constituency tomorrow in which the party will make use of the women team the party has formed at polling booth level,” said BJP Mahila Morcha state general secretary Anju Makhija. This is for the first time such a programme is being organised in the country.

There will be a 10-minute programme and women who gather at a particular place in a colony or at the house of a BJP Mahila activist will pray for Vajpayee’s well being. “There will be no talk about the elections in the meeting and there will be no fund collection during the meeting,” Makhija said.

In the programme, Vajpayee’s poster, in which he is seeking the blessings of a lady, will be distributed. “Though the purpose of the programme is intended to attract women voters towards the BJP, there will be no talk of seeking votes during the programme,” Makhija said.

The party has not fixed any time for the programme as it will be held at different times at different localities as per the convenience of the local people from early morning to late night, said Makhija, who will be holding the meeting at Saket Nagar.

Apart from meetings, there will be big programmes at some places in the City, she said.

In the first phase of the programme tomorrow, women will gather in small groups at thousands of places in the City and pray for his long life, said Babu Singh Raghuvanshi, convenor of BJP candidate Sumitra Mahajan’s campaign committee.

There are around 1,800 polling booths in the City and the BJP has formed a team of 10 women activists in every polling booth for the election works.

‘‘Just imagine the number of such meetings in the City tomorrow,’’ Raghuvanshi said adding the party was aiming to distribute more than 2.5 lakh posters of Vajpayee during the programme tomorrow.
