Three-day BJP national council and working committee meeting begins in Nagpur on Friday to prepare a roadmap and discuss effective strategies to counter the Congress-led UPA coalition in the ensuing general elections.
The party spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi informed that the party would move three important resolutions on the issues of economic, political and agrarian situation during its two-day national council meeting. The three-day meet would be a session dedicated to give directions to the party rank and file for the final polls preparation. "The meeting would discuss and finalise its poll strategy but not the election manifesto for the ensuing elections," he said. Representatives would attend the national council right from the panchayat level, and for the first time, elected block level leaders have been invited to participate.
According to him, the meeting has its significance in view of coming general elections scheduled anytime between April and May. The national council meeting will conclude with a speech of party's prime ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani.
Over 2,200 party activists are working round-the-clock to give final touches to the arrangements. Around 7,000 delegates are expected to participate in the national meet. Of them, six CMs, around 200 MPs, 250 state ministers and 1100 legislators from all over the country would among the participants.

{{/usCountry}}Devendra Fadnavis, co-ordinator of the convention, said that the selection of the venue at Nagpur was deliberate as the city is centrally located and houses the RSS headquarters.
An open convention will take place at the University's Subhedar playground while the party national executive council will meet at Rani Kothi in Civil Lines.
