STATE BHARATIYA Janata Party (BJP) president Satyanarayan Jatia said here today a coordination committee would be in place in a week to review the State Government’s policies and performance.
While he was lashing out at the UPA Government at the Centre over price rise, journalists drew his attention to LPG prices in Madhya Pradesh being the highest in the country because of higher rate of entry tax here. The State BJP was studying the matter and would give advice to the State Government if need be, he said.
Jatia was talking to newspersons after the first meeting of the State BJP office-bearers since the formation of the executive body.
He said the coordination committee, comprising three ministers and three members from the organisation, would be headed by him.
He said an arrangement would be worked out within a week how office work (at the State BJP office) was to be distributed and streamlined.
In a reply to a related question, he said some RSS members would join the organisation and would be assigned responsibilities.
He said the office-bearers meeting today discussed various issues, including the membership campaign, agitation against growing terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, escalation of prices, State Government’s schemes and party manifesto.
He said about 1,000 office-bearers from various districts, MLAs and MPs would take part in the party’s protest programme against growing terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir at Jammu on June 10. Meanwhile, protest programmes going on in the State would come to an end on May 30, he said.
He said the next executive committee meet would take place tentatively on June 17-18. The venue of the meet was yet to be finalised.

{{/usCountry}}On the reservation issue, he said the party was of view that backward classes should be given opportunities, but the way the UPA Government had tried to implement it would divide the society.
