Led by Jammu district president Rajesh Gupta, the party activists took out a protest march from the party headquarters, which passed through main bazaars of the city and culminated at parade ground. They were carrying placards and party flags and raised slogans against the Omar Abdullah led state government.

Gupta, while condemning these acts, held the state government responsible, adding that not taking the past acts of sacrilege seriously and adopting soft approach towards such criminals has only encouraged such elements to repeat it, which directly hurt the sentiments of Hindu community.

It is dangerous for the unity among the society and will create communal hatred if stern action under law is not taken, said Gupta and warned the state government of more aggressive protests if it fails to punish the culprits.

At Janipur, BJYM activists under the leadership of mandal president Rinku Chauhan held protest against the state government demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.
