State BJP President Bachi Singh Rawat decided to revoke the suspension order against the leaders after they expressed regret for their action, state general secretary Teerath Singh Rawat said, adding a stern warning was issued to them.

Their resignations from party posts were, however, accepted.

“The resignations of party leaders, who quit their posts, whether in writing or by announcing in the media - be it electronic or print, have been accepted by the party president,” the general secretary said.

The leaders who were suspended include party’s state youth wing President Gajraj Singh Bist, chairman of Pithoragarh municipal council Rajendra Rawat and state working committee member Rajesh Shukla.

They were charged with airing their views in public in support of BS Koshiyari, who was seeking Khanduri’s removal, following his resignation from Rajya Sabha on Jun 17.
