The BJP Sunday criticised Trinamool Congress leaders for their “offending and unparliamentary” language and hit out at TMC Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’ Brien for his comments on PM Narendra Modi and finance minister Arun Jaitley.
O’Brien had recently criticised Modi’s absence in the Upper House and asked if the PM needed a visa to enter Rajya Sabha. He also referred to Jaitley as a ‘frustrated minister’. BJP’s West Bengal in-charge Siddharth Nath Singh said, “The BJP would like to know from O’ Brien, what made the West Bengal CM (Mamata Banerjee) give an unofficial visa to Bangladeshi jihadis to spread their terror activities in Bengal?” “He should also explain why the West Bengal CM is called the cheat minister and chit fund minister?,” he added.
Singh said, “Certainly the chief minister cannot be pushed down from the winner’s slot but Derek O’ Brien certainly beats his colleagues in the intemperate language competition. Certainly not an asset derived from being a quiz master,” Singh said.
“In his quest to be the king of intemperate vocabulary, Derek O’ Brien is forgetting that obstruction is not a substitute of the TMC’s conspiracy in Saradha scam,” Singh said.

Jaitley had, during a function held outside Parliament, said that a political party accused in a chit fund scam was trying to obstruct proceedings on Rajya Sabha.
