"The electorate of Maharashtra wants a change of guard and will give an overwhelming majority to the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. The Golden Jubilee year of the state's formation will mark a new beginning after suffering misrule for the last 10 years," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.

He claimed the NDA alliance would win more than 144 seats in the 288 members Maharashtra assembly.

Anti-incumbency issues like price rise, plight of farmers, lack of power and frequent power cuts, plus the rebellion in Congress-NCP alliance and problems in Republican Party led front after the Lok Sabha polls were enumerated by the BJP MP as the reasons that would help BJP-SS win.

"The voters are very aware and so I don't think there will be a hung assembly," he said.

"We will emerge as a strong force," Javadekar said.

BJP had only two seats in the outgoing 90-member Haryana assembly.
