Bhartiya Janta Party has urged the Governor N N Vohra to use his office in putting down to rest the recent administrative commotion raked up by the present incumbency over ‘quiet diplomacy that has given air to separatists’ upsurge in the valley’.
This it has said in reference to the alleged ‘anti-India activities being carried out in Kashmir University by the present Vice Chancellor Riyaz Punjabi by giving the Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani to use it as a platform to voice his pro-Pakistan proclamations through impressing upon the students to take oath for Jehad, Azadi and Islam’.
“We appeal to the Governor to immediately dismiss Riyaz Punjabi, arrest him forthwith and initiate criminal proceedings against him as per the law of the land,” said BJP chief Ashok Khajuria while addressing the media persons.
He also called for Governor’s attention toward Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, and Pro-Chancellor of Kashmir University keeping silent over the issue and held him responsible for permitting Punjabi to continue with anti-India activities in the campus.
Suspecting a common link between the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram’s recent promotion of ‘quiet diplomacy’ for the state followed by his acknowledgement of presence of separatist forces in valley needing government’s consideration for talks, BJP president alleged that the ‘process is well conspired move’ between the central and state government to include separatism and secessionism into the diplomacy to secure their respective governances.

{{/usCountry}}Khajuria once again reiterated that the BJP will not allow the Government of India to announce any concession to the Kashmiri separatists and protagonists of greater autonomy and self-rule as any such concession would not only give legitimacy to the cult of terror and politics of rabid communalism but would also dilute the Indian sovereignty in Jammu and Kashmir, thus helping Pakistan directly to achieve its sinister goals.
“BJP is well geared up to thwart any such move and is ready to give a befitting defiance to the government over the issue,” warned Khajuria adding that the state should prepare up for a bigger showdown with the government on this account on its first assembly meet in the winter capital.
